Nasri impresses as West Ham defeats Arsenal

Samir Nasri impressed on his league debut as West Ham defeated Arsenal in today’s English Premier League fixture at the London stadium.

Declan Rice’s first West Ham goal secured a 1-0 win over Arsenal in a capital city derby clash .

Nasri was making his Premier League debut for the club as he continues his comeback from an 18-month ban for receiving an intravenous treatment at a Los Angeles clinic in December 2016, contravening World Anti-Doping Agency rules.

And the former France international was a key figure for West Ham, setting up Declan Rice for the winner early in the second half.

Marko Arnautovic – linked with a move to China – waved to fans after being replaced in the second half, while Arsenal struggled to truly test goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski in a poor showing.

Teenage midfielder Rice gave himself an early present for his 20th birthday on Monday by scoring the only goal of the game three minutes into the second half.

“I can’t put it into the words,” an elated Rice told Sky Sports. “The lads are always on at me to take the shot on more.”
